A wonderfully tranquil small set of thirteen islands near Dubrovnik, perfect for getting away from it all. The name comes from the Ancient Greek word for deer (elaphos), for which is believed to inhabit the islands. Each island is like a special pearl, similar to the others but still somehow different. Koločep is the smallest of the three settled Elaphite islands and is closest to Dubrovnik. Lopud is the most visited island in the archipelago, mainly for the wonderful Šunj beach. Šipan is the Golden Island, the largest of the settled Elaphites and the location of many Dubrovnik Republic aristocratic manors.

While the sun is not at sleep, the Elaphite Islands guard its keep, and the sun lavishes them with its golden glare, perfecting their beauty in a twilight sunset, a perennial performance for couples in awe enhancing the Dubrovnik dream forever more.
